Key Actions & Decisions

  • • Minutes of the May 26, 2026 meeting approved, 5-0.
  • • Three related Meeder mixed-use applications — a revised preliminary plan for Phases 1-3 (18 townhouse units, 24 apartment units, 7,500 square feet of nonresidential space), a revised final plan adding 10 parking spaces to Phase 1, and a final plan for Phases 2 and 3 — each passed 5-0 after a resident asked about dumpster placement and parking-space layout.
  • • Two Henry Farm applications off Darlington, Powell and Rochester roads — a revised tentative plan re-sequencing a previously approved 114-lot development and a final plan for 60 lots in Phases 1-2 — each passed 5-0 after residents objected to the brick and wall design and the lack of driveways.
  • • A tentative plan for the new Robin Run development (37 new single-family units plus one existing unit on 61.4 acres off Freshcorn and Glen Rape roads) passed 5-0 after a resident raised green-space and stormwater-drainage concerns tied to a steep grade and wetlands.
  • • A combined preliminary and final plan for a 5,894-square-foot expansion of the former Rite Aid building at Village Shoppes passed 5-0 after a resident questioned room for delivery trucks.
  • • Two applications for a 7,785-square-foot UPMC Passavant utility-plant expansion were continued to the July 27 meeting at the applicant's request; township records show both were later withdrawn by the developer in a letter dated July 1, 2026.
  • • Two zoning amendments covering animal rescue and sanctuary standards — Chapter 27 and Chapter 2 — each passed 5-0.
  • • All of the night's advanced land-use items and both animal ordinances are scheduled for the Board of Supervisors' August 6, 2026 meeting.

The Cranberry Township Planning Advisory Commission voted 5-0 on every item before it on June 29, 2026, advancing the Meeder mixed-use project, two Henry Farm applications, the new Robin Run subdivision and a Village Shoppes expansion even as residents raised unresolved questions about parking, building materials, driveways and stormwater drainage. Two applications for a UPMC Passavant utility-plant expansion were continued to July at the applicant's request and were later withdrawn.
